Four Villages Guests Visit Local Village
School * February 9, 2003
|
| Mr. and
Mrs. Mervyn Arnold, parents of Canadian High Commission diplomat Jonathan
Arnold, had the pleasure of seeing another side of life in Ghana. They
paid an impromptu visit to Charity's village Senfi and her non-profit trade
school, SCOTT TRADE INSTITUTE. There they met the twenty-one students busy
making model hand bags out of paper and cooking small cakes. In appreciation,
the Arnolds kindly donated C500,000 (approximately US$60) to the school
which was promptly spent on a Singer hand sewing machine. |

As of January 1, 2003, a single room costs US$50 or cedi equivalent and

Eileen Wiebe in Ghana to Support Charity's
Dream * December 21, 2002
Charity,
your hostess at FOUR VILLAGES INN had a dream to start a trade school in
Senfi, the village where she grew up. With the help of Eileen Wiebe her
dream continues to be a reality. Pictured here is Eileen, who has travelled
twice
to Ghana, presenting individual gift bags to the students of SCOTT TRADE
INSTITUTE. Eileen travelled with her daughter Shelegh this time.
| In 1999 at the time of the
school's opening, she came with her husband John, a retired Anglican clergyman.
The Wiebes raised money through the church to a tune of US$1,000.
FOUR VILLAGES INN proudly sponsors five girl students each year.
Should you wish to travel to Senfi located 16 miles from Kumasi, a typical
village in Ghana and visit the modest school, we would be pleased to take
you. The proceeds of the trip would go to the school, that is paying
teachers, buying materials, or sponsoring a student. |
