Grandma Charity is Back in Ghana * December 30, 2004
After an almost six month absence spent in Montreal, Quebec Canada, your host Charity has returned to Ghana and Four Villages Inn. Her mission was to follow a Ghanaian custom of being with her daughter Christianna during her first pregnancy and delivery of a first grandchild. Now your hosts Charity and Chris can proudly say they are grandparents to a baby boy named Justin Kwame Clerk. Kwame is a Ghanaian name meaning Saturday born.
Coming to Ghana ??? - Some Helpful Resources* December 22, 2004
Researching your trip to Ghana? We suggest you purchase the latest Bradt Guide to Ghana published in June 2004-it's a treasure trove of information. You might also like to contact the publisher Bradt at info@bradt-travelguides.com and request the update compiled by author Philip Briggs.

Some Travel Tips for Our Guests * December 18, 2004
Should you be bringing US dollars to Ghana, bring the new bills; the old bills are no longer accepted at forex bureaus.
Leave Accra to avoid high hotel costs and horrendous traffic. Should you be arriving on an international flight in the evening, you can take an internal flight to Kumasi on either of the two airlines that fly the Kumasi-Accra route.
Four Villages Inn provides a free pick up service. We will be pleased to send you details on the flights available, so you can make your bookings by internet. Kumasi makes an excellent base to explore this wonderful country.
Before hiring a car and driver (a very expensive proposition) consider the State Transport bus service that operates buses (many of them luxury coaches) between major cities around Ghana. The service is great, comfortable and reliable.
A Word of Reassurance - Ivory Coast * December 12, 2004
The Ivory Coast has been in the news of late and you may have heard about unrest there. The Ivory Coast is in turmoil; however, rest assured that Ghana, which borders Cote d'Ivoire on the east, is untouched by the unrest. In fact, Ghana has just carried out democratic elections in an atmosphere of calm and decorum. Ghana remains a safe destination, a holiday paradise characterised by fascinating attractions, and a warm and hospitable people.
New Canadian High Commissioner and Family Visit * December 7, 2004
Recently Four Villages Inn had the pleasure and, of course honour, to host the recently arrived Canadian High Commissioner His Excellency Mr. Donald Bobiash and his wife Teresa  and daughter Katherine. Here's what they wrote in our guest book:
"A great stay, warm hospitality and a wonderful place to stay while in Ghana."
"A lovely relaxing heaven, a great retreat from Kumasi. Wonderful hospitality."
"If it was not for the Four Villages Inn, it just would nnot be fun to visit Kumasi. I love it!"
Expatriot Honoured with Traditional Chieftancy * November 11, 2004
It is a very rare event, but it's happened: an expatriot becoming a real chief, not just an honourary chief. Rod McLaren, owner and manager, of African Rainbow Resort and long time friend of the Scotts of Four Villages Inn, has been installed as "nkosorohene" or chief responsible for developmentat New Edubiase, near his wife's home town south of Kumasi. Your host, Chris from Four Villages Inn was in attendance at the ceremony; and to give the publicity such an event deserves, Chris arranged for and paid the expenses of a TV crew from Kumasi to cover this auspicious occasion.
Congratulations to Nana Akwasi Amoako, formerly known as Rod McLaren. The website for the African Rainbow Resort is www.aficanrainbow.net
Four Villages Inn - A Visitors' Attraction * October 20, 2004
On October 15th, the DAMSEL WOMENS' GROUP, a charitable organization made up of miners' wives from Tarkwa Goldfields in the Western Region, included FOUR VILLAGES INN on their one day visit to Kumasi. Their itinerary included visits to the Central Market and the National Cultural Centre. After a tour of the inn, the fifteen women enjoyed a variety of FOUR VILLAGES INN MEATS products along with fresh lemonade. It is no wonder that Philip Briggs in the latest BRADT GUIDE TO GHANA writes that FOUR VILLAGES INN is "without a doubt the most alluring and individualistic hotel in KUMASI"!
Four Villages Inn is JUST THE TICKET!!!! * October 18, 2004
Staying at Four Villages Inn is, as the expression goes, just the ticket. This proved literally true when two of our guests forgot their return CITYLINK airline tickets in their room ...

Four Villages Inn dropped them off at the airport (a free service), said our sad farewells and left. We found out a little later by phone that the tickets were left in the room and that a representative would be around the next day to pick them up. We checked the room and sure enough there they were ...

The next day, the representative showed up and collected the tickets. We complemented him on the airline's flexibility in letting on the two passengers without producing their tickets.

The representative's reply, " I saw you drop off the clients in the Four Villages Inn van and I know that's where my managing director and his family stay when they come to Kumasi , so I knew the passengers were O.K." ... Yes, Four Villages Inn is JUST THE TICKET!!!!
